March Is Not A Casual Month

It is the first month of our final quarter. It is the gateway to our next legacy. It is the moment where focused leadership must replace passive participation. This is a month of strategic action. We are stepping into several defining moments as a district.

First, our candidates for our newly formed district have been announced. This is historic. New leadership represents more than names on a ballot. It represents vision. Capacity. Stewardship. The future culture we are building together. Leadership is not accidental. It is cultivated.

As you observe the candidates, ask yourself:
Where am I being called to lead next?
How am I preparing myself for greater responsibility?
Am I stretching beyond comfort or protecting convenience?

Second, we are entering “Reinvestment Season“. Reinvestment is not just about dues. It is about decision. It is the moment every member silently answers the question: Is my growth worth continuing?

For club leaders, this is not administrative. It is relational.
Have you checked in with your members?
Do they feel seen? Developed? Challenged? Valued?

Retention is not a form. It is a reflection of culture.

Third, our Combined Business Meeting on April 20 will determine the officers who will guide us into 2026–2027. Elections are not procedural. They are directional. The leaders we elect will influence the trajectory of our district.

Are we identifying emerging leaders now?
Are we mentoring intentionally?
Are we developing successors, or are we hoping someone will step up at the last minute? Leadership succession is strategic, not spontaneous.

And finally, It’s Club Visit Month and our Area Directors will begin visiting your clubs.

This is not inspection season. It is connection season. Area visits are an opportunity to align, strengthen, and support. Clubs, prepare intentionally. Share your wins. Be honest about your challenges. Ask for what you need. Growth requires transparency.

As District Director, I am asking each of you to shift from activity to intentionality. Finish strong. Engage deeply. Lead boldlyThis final quarter is not about scrambling for DCP points. It is about protecting our legacy. It is about modeling integrity, respect, servant leadership, and excellence in real time.

Every meeting you run.
Every member you mentor.
Every conversation you initiate.
Every decision you make.

It all compounds.

March is where we decide how this story ends. Do not drift into the quarter. Drive it.

If you are a member, recommit to your education path and your presence.
If you are a club officer, connect personally with every member this month.
If you are an Area Director, lead your visits with clarity and courage.
If you feel the nudge to serve at a higher level, do not silence it.

This is your development journey.
This is your leadership laboratory.
This is your moment.

District 44, let us finish this legacy year with strength and intentionality. SHOW UP. Lead with purpose. And build the future you want to inherit.

In service to our members,

DTM Yolonda Jay
District 44 Director, 2025–2026
