OCTOBER 2025
Director’s Address
Uplift Through Connection
Fellow Toastmasters,
As we enter the month of November—a season of gratitude and reflection—I’m reminded that true leadership isn’t measured just by the number of goals we accomplish, but by the hearts we connect and uplift along the way.
In Toastmasters, connection is our foundation. It’s what transforms a meeting into a movement and a member into a messenger of change. Whether you’re a club officer, mentor, or member finding your voice, your connection to others is what breathes life into our mission. When we uplift through connection, we don’t just strengthen our Clubs and our District—we strengthen one another.
Think about the moments that made you stay in Toastmasters: a mentor’s encouragement, a club’s applause, or a friend’s belief in your potential. Those connections created confidence, and that confidence became courage.
This month, I challenge you to intentionally connect with your club members or fellow Toastmaster you haven’t spoken to in a while.
Connection builds community and fuels unstoppable growth. It’s the thread that weaves together our Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Service, and Excellence. It’s how we S.H.O.W. U.P. for one another and create a culture where every member doesn’t just belong… they become.
Together, we are not just shaping better speakers or stronger leaders we’re building a legacy of connection that lasts.
With excitement to witness your journey,
DTM Yolonda Jay
District 44 Director, 2025–2026
