DISTRICT 44 TOASTMASTERS
What’s Your Why
We Need 7 Area Directors — Will You Step Up?
We’re calling for seven servant-leaders to S.H.O.W.U.P. for our clubs this year. As an Area Director, you’ll coach club officers, connect communities, and accelerate members’ growth across your Area.
What’s in it for you?
-
Lead & coach in the real world: guide clubs, chair meetings, and solve problems that build true leadership muscle.
-
Grow your career toolkit (and your DTM): sharpen communication, facilitation, and project management skills—while earning district leadership credit.
-
Expand your impact & network: collaborate with leaders across companies and communities to help more members find their voice.
On this page you can learn the role, review benefits & time commitment, and apply—all in one place.
About the Role: Area Director
An Area Director is the connector for 4–6 nearby clubs—part coach, part cheerleader, part problem-solver. You’ll help officers run great meetings, grow membership, and keep members progressing.
What you’ll do
-
Visit each club (twice/year) to celebrate wins, spot needs, and share practical coaching.
-
Run an Area Council (club Presidents, VPEs, VPMs): swap best practices, align goals, and keep everyone moving.
-
Support training & renewals by promoting officer training, Pathways progress, and on-time dues.
-
Host the Area Speech Contest (with help—templates and support teams provided).
-
Track club health (DCP, membership, engagement) and share quick updates with your Division Director.
Time & Support
-
Time commitment: ~5–7 hours/month on average including one district executive committee the first Friday evening of every month. Heavier around officer training (Jul/Aug & Jan/Feb), dues renewals (Sep/Mar), and contest season (Nov-Jan).
-
Training & tools: You’ll get onboarding, mentors, checklists, dashboards, and ready-to-use emails—no need to reinvent the wheel.
-
Team behind you: Division Director, Program Quality & Club Growth teams, and fellow Area Directors.
Who should apply
-
Paid member in good standing who cares about helping clubs thrive.
-
Ideally some club officer experience (any role). Great listener. Comfortable coordinating people and follow-through.
-
Ready to learn, lead, and lift others.
Term: Now through June 30 of this Toastmasters year.
